Die casting is a manufacturing process in which molten metal is injected under pressure into a hardened steel mold or die. Molds are usually water-cooled. Then the mold is opened and the die-cast (thousands of parts per day, sometimes just a few hundred) pops out. Once the tool is paid for, die-casting is a very cheap process for making aluminum parts.
